The delicately potted rounded sides rising to a tapering shoulder set with a short rim, the exterior decorated in bright and glossy famille rose enamels with a continuous river landscape with buildings, figures, fishermen, trees and mountains, all set against a gilt ground, the recessed base with a seal hall mark reading 'Juren Tang Zhi' (Made for the Hall of Dwelling in Benevolence) iron-red. Period: 1910/20s. Height 6 cm, diameter c. 9 cm. Provenance The collection of Herbert Küttim (1901-1984). Küttim grew up in Estonia. During the Second World War, he and his family fled the country and settled in Sweden in 1944. An entrepreneur involved in many different ventures, Küttim discovered his passion for porcelain during a trip to London in the 1950s. Over the following decades, he returned to London numerous times, loading his blue Chevrolet with antique porcelain to bring back to Sweden. Some pieces remained in his personal collection, while others were sold. Thence by descent within the family. Condition Minor wear, some scratches to the gilding.
