Of bottle form with tapering neck and flared rim, decorated in an unusual combination of underglaze-copper-red and puce enamel two contesting dragons in pursuit of the flaming pearl amongst stylised clouds in turquoise enamels and ribbons of flame in iron-red, a frieze of Greek key below the rim and a border of crashing waves around the foot in underglaze-blue, the recessed base with a four-character mark of Qianlong in underglaze-blue. Period: early 20th century. Height c. 39 cm. Condition Wear, minor firing defects, one more prominent firing defect to the inner foot ring. Examined under UV-light.
