The compressed globular body rising from a short foot to an inward rim, the exterior covered with a glaze of speckled green colour suffused with shades of soft rose, the recessed base with a six-character mark of Kangxi in underglaze-blue. Height c. 3.3 cm, diameter c. 12.2 cm. Provenance From the private collection of Gunnar Silverberg (1923-2025). Silverberg was taught carpentry at his father’s shop in Malmö, and started working there at an early age. In the late 1940s, he opened his own furniture store on Baltzarsgatan. He later moved to a nearby location, opening Silverbergs furniture store, which became one of the leading furniture stores in the south of Sweden. Silverberg was also interested in Asian works of art, which he collected himself, but also sold in his store. Thence by descent to the present owner. Condition Firing spots, the rim with small frits/firing spots, the foot ring with a very small chip. Examined under UV-light.
